For SEQ only: Tips for getting on a better energy deal
New research revealed that when actors tried saying different things on the phone to energy providers they got offered different levels of discount! It's quite shocking really, but good to know as the advocates. How to spot the tricks suppliers use to stop us getting a better deal - ABC listen - from 10mins 45seconds to 14mins 50seconds. Key takeaway is saying: "I have looked on energymade easy and seen a better deal, can you offer me something better" meant the retailer revealed the best price.
*NB this does not apply to Ergon customers, only those with many retailers competing. Ergon customers pay the same rate no matter where they are located and itβs on par with SEQ (even in our very remote locations). The QLD Government provides a subsidy called the Community Service Obligation (CSO) payment to meet the additional costs in supplying electricity in regional QLD.
